At our Chicago Team Gathering this year, we were proud to recognize James Hartsig, Senior Manager, Vegetation Management, for his innovative approach that led to implementing new technologies, finding new solutions to complex problems, and improving our operations. Traditional site stabilization at solar facilities can face challenges with weed proliferation, lack of seeding, and erosion. James and his team identified where there were areas for improvement and acted on them, creating company-wide best practices for improved results that are actually leading the industry, too. Congratulations to James and the vegetation management team for their incredible work this year that cut costs for our customers and continued to cement Invenergy's unique and proactive approach to responsible land management.

Robert Taylor, Vice President of Transmission New Markets, spoke at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Grid Forum yesterday on the panel: Protecting America: Bolstering National Security Through Interregional Transmission. As a U.S. Navy veteran, Rob offered his perspective on how interregional transmission will strengthen the U.S. electric grid and enhance national security. “The U.S. interstate highway system was built based on a national security need. That was the original driver behind that infrastructure investment,” he explained. “There is the same national security need today for interregional transmission.”
