Kayla Stott ('21 food science) works as an operations process analyst at Cargill, where she helps to improve products in the deli and ready meats business. She coordinates the training of plant and corporate leadership in analytics, ensuring everyone is up to speed on the best industry practices. "One of my favorite parts of my job is getting the opportunity to travel to different types of protein facilities within Cargill and see the full transformation of products from raw material to finished goods," Stott said. Two CALS faculty members, Walter Suza and Lisa Schulte Moore, have been named two of 38 Top Agri-Food Pioneers by the World Food Prize Foundation in recognition of their efforts to revolutionize the food system. “I am fortunate to work with many smart and dedicated people from different walks of life to find solutions to tough problems at the intersection of agriculture and our environment,” Schulte Moore said. “We all need to eat. The Fountain of the Four Seasons and its Maidens are back! On Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m., the fountain will be turned on for the first time since the start of the two-year restoration. Interesting in seeing the original Maidens, made from plaster in 1940? Check out the ground-floor rotunda in Curtiss Hall! It's time! The 21st Annual Norman Borlaug Lecture Poster Competition is open and accepting poster abstracts from graduate and undergraduate students! The competition focuses on projects in the areas of world issues, which could include food, agriculture, climate, nutrition, economies and technology.
