Remember to register for this upcoming "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐓𝐀 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬" program. Make plans to join us March 27, 2025 for a discussion of the rules of the Camera Arbitrale di Milano (CAM). Stefano Azzali, General Director for CAM, will be interviewed by Dr. Giuditta Cordero-Moss of the University of Oslo. This series is designed to raise the awareness of “arbitration” users as to the right choice of Arbitration Rules and forums, and to reinforce cooperation between the arbitral institutions. These webinars present, one by one, institutions such as LCIA, ICC, SIAC, ICSID, SCC, JAMS, ICDR, CeCAP, and many others. Our goal is to reach beyond the ordinary and bland description of main features and give the audience a practical tool facilitating the choice of the set of rules appropriate for each individual case. These webinars are free for ITA Advisory Board and Correspondent members and are generously supported by Wolters Kluwer. We are only one week away from this upcoming CLE Ethics Event! Make plans to join us, Thursday, March 20, 2025 9:00 AM EDT/ 3:00 PM CET for the Second Webinar of the Ethics in International Arbitration Series - "𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 – 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞?"! Disclosure obligations are not universal and typically vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This can be especially problematic when a tribunal is made up of arbitrators from different jurisdictions (which is the norm in international arbitration) and with different disclosure rules applying to them. The most universal soft law is the IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration (the current version approved in 2024; the “Guidelines”), which is regarded as the “bible” on disclosure. This program is the a part of a series of webinars that will be led by Catherine A. Rogers, Full Professor of Law at Università Bocconi and Research Professor and Affiliated Scholar, University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), and Gábor Damjanovic Immediate Past Chair of the IBA Professional Ethics Committee, Managing partner at the Law Firm Forgó, Damjanovic & Partners. Last chance to register for this upcoming #YoungITATalks London program "𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬." This program will be held tomorrow, March 12 from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm and is generously hosted and sponsored by Latham & Watkins. Many arbitration practitioners often face weighty “matters of state”. Lawyers working on Investor-State arbitrations invariably confront complex questions of politics and policy. These issues often also arise when State-owned entities act as claimants or respondents. So how should lawyers navigate high-stakes issues that can involve government disruption, state secrets, confidentiality, military necessity, corruption and even threats to human life? The practitioners on our panel have many years of experience – both as strategy-setting partners and as associates dealing with the daily realities of State-linked work. They will provide top tips that will be relevant to lawyers at any level. Speakers include Young ITA UK Co-Chair Thomas Lane (Latham & Watkins), Catriona Paterson (OMNIA STRATEGY LLP), Volodymyr Yaremko (Mayer Brown), Isuru Devendra (The 36 Group), and Shreya Ramesh (Latham & Watkins).
