Elise Courtois, JAX Director of Single Cell Biology Lab and EndoRISE co-director, participated in a panel at Cal State LA following the screening of an EndoWhat? production, "Below the Belt." The patient-led panel, translated live into Spanish, brought the Los Angeles community and endometriosis experts together to discuss education, share support, and empower those affected by endometriosis. Thank you again to our co-hosts Chism-Endo and California State University, Los Angeles.

A key player in providing individualized medicines to patients is industry partners. The N=1 Collaborative Inaugural Annual Meeting 2024 Industry Panel featured Nianwei Lin of iXCells Biotechnologies, David Butler of Hongene Biotech Corporation, Rebecca Miles of ReiNA Consulting, Cat Lutz of The Jackson Laboratory, and Jeremy Little of ChemGenes. Panelists discussed how n-of-1 treatments differ from traditional therapy development in terms of process, scale, and methods. They also identified what they believe is the biggest bottleneck for scaling up and ensuring sustainability in the development of n-of-1 oligonucleotide drugs. Thank you to our industry partners for problem-solving with us to bring individualized therapies to patients in their lifetime. JAX professor Jeffrey Chuang's recently published study in Communications Biology reveals never-before-seen details of the interactions of cancer cells and their surrounding cells. “Researchers have long suspected that better characterizing this complex community, which includes immune cells, blood vessels, and signaling molecules, could shed light on how cancers grow, spread, and respond to treatment,” said Chuang. "This new analysis lets us quantify the locations and interactions of cells and molecules in a way that has never before been possible using imaging.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/e2RibDzc

In a new Nature study, a team of researchers at YSM, The Jackson Laboratory, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard use generative #AI to create #DNA sequences never seen in nature. The synthetic sequences, or cis-regulatory elements, can selectively turn #genes “on” and “off” in targeted cell types. https://brnw.ch/21wO2Gq
