Increasing access to the city through unified transit
About us
Jawnt provides access to the city through unified transit. One Platform: We work with mobility providers to provide benefits and access relevant to your organization. We serve as the liaison between you and all of the providers. A Better Benefit: Organizations provide employees with cash to spend through Jawnt – most choose to fully or partially cover the cost of transit up to a certain amount. Simplified Transit: Employees select exactly what they need and we get them moving. We take care of getting them the access they need and can help with commute planning. Ease of Mind: We make life easy by fully integrating with your payroll system to simplify payment and help your team take advantage of the pre-tax and post-tax savings. Jawnt is supported by world-class investors and notable angels.

I spent a long time when I moved to SF fiddling with my commute, and I think I've finally established my dream commute. Now, I get to the Jawnt SF office with a scooter 🛴 and the train 🚆. By using a scooter from Unagi Scooters, I'm able to shave 15 minutes off my commute each way as the nearest Muni metro station is nearly a mile from my home. Plus, it’s fun to cruise down San Francisco hills on a tiny scooter and then catch up on email on the train! It's been great working with Jason Karas to make scooters available to our customers. This map from Jason so beautifully illustrates how micromobility complements and increases access to traditional modes of transit. More details in his blog post in the comments!

Even among employers offering transit benefits, workers in the lowest 20% of earners had the lowest likelihood of being offered transit subsidies. The likelihood of being offered these benefits increases with each higher income quintile. What’s happening here is a failure of communication, leaving lower earning employees out in the cold, and creating an inequitable distribution of benefits.

On average, national transit rides are at about 74 percent of pre-pandemic levels, although that varies from region to region.

"In August, Dublin launched two primary traffic lanes to the city center, set up dedicated bus lanes, and established pedestrian-only streets and gathering spots in an effort to encourage more people to get around the city without using cars."
