Congratulations to Tomas Brizuela on his promotion to Store Director at the Jewel-Osco Alsip location 🎉 Tomas started at the company as a service clerk before leaving and spending more than two decades in the retail food industry. Upon return to Jewel-Osco he was hired as an Assistant Store Director Trainee. Tomas was then promoted to Jewel Assistant Store Director in Kankakee followed by several other stores with his most recent location at the Jewel-Osco in Tinley Park. Congratulations to Stephanie Diliberto on her promotion to the role of Jewel-Osco Assistant Sales Manager-General Merchandise! Stephanie got her start with Jewel-Osco in 2004 as Store Manager Trainee after graduating from the University of Illinois-Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in management. After working in several retail department positions including Bakery Manager and Grocery Manager Stephanie was promoted to Jewel Assistant Store Director, working in several locations. She then took on the role of Department Specialist supporting Bakery Merchandising and years later she was promoted again to the role of Sales Manager for Bakery/Starbucks. Stephanie’s most recent role was Assistant Sales Manager-Center Store. #retailcareers #salesmanager #prideinyourpath

Jewel-Osco is pleased to announce that Kathleen Kaupert has been promoted to the role of Assistant Sales Manager- Center Store! Kathy began her career with Jewel-Osco as a clerk in Accounts Receivable and moved to the Transportation Department two years later, working in several roles before moving to the Fresh Foods Merchandising Department. There Kathy worked as a Sales/Research Analyst, followed by Assistant Sales Manager. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Benedictine University, Kathy became a Category Manager for Bakery and Floral before becoming the Marketing Coordinator. In 2021 Kathy accepted the position of Assistant Sales Manager-General Merchandise, her most recent assignment. #retailcareers #management #prideinyourpath

Congratulations to Sean Finnegan on his promotion to the role of Jewel-Osco Shrink Manager! 🎉 Sean began his career with Jewel-Osco in 2006 as a part-time clerk and after graduating from the University of Illinois-Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in marketing he joined the Store Manager Training Program. After working in several different roles including Deli Manager, Assistant Grocery Manager and Assistant Store Director Sean was promoted to Store Director at one of the Arlington Heights locations. He worked as a Store Director at several stores before being promoted to Center Store Operations Specialist for District 1. Last year he was promoted again to Assistant Sales Manager-Center Store. Jewel-Osco is pleased to announce the promotion of Lavar Boykins to the position of Assistant Sales Manager-Center Store. Lavar began his career with Jewel-Osco as a part-time clerk and over time became a full-time Deli clerk before joining the Store Manager Training program in 2002. From there he was promoted to Deli Manager before transitioning to a Produce Buyer at the Melrose Park Distribution Center. Lavar then served in various retail leadership roles including Jewel Assistant Store Director, followed by Store Director at one of the Chicago locations. To further his career at Jewel-Osco Lavar joined the Conversion team in 2018 and spent several months training management on the new in-house systems. Following that project, he transitioned back into retail as a Front-End Manager and was then promoted to eCommerce Operations Manager in 2019 working in multiple districts. Lavar is a graduate of Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. #promotion #retailcareers #prideinyourpath

Earlier this week, Grubhub hosted its first-ever Food Feastival at Chicago’s Daley Plaza as part of our ongoing 20th anniversary celebration. The event brought together THOUSANDS of people including local small businesses owners, our Chicago-based Grubhub team and business partners, and our hungry diners to honor the hometown restaurants who make Chicago’s food scene so special. In total, twenty local restaurants participated, offering more than 12,000 bites of their signature dishes – including everything from deep dish pizza and Chicago-style dogs to pad thai and shrimp & grits. Jewel-Osco even jumped in on the fun to donate water for the event! A huge thank you to everyone who attended – especially all the amazing merchant partners who made this celebration possible. Here’s to the next 20 years!
