The honor is bestowed on “extraordinary women who have set a high standard for philanthropy and volunteerism.” The award is named for Norma Kipnis-Wilson and Toby Friedland, the co-founders of Jewish Federations of North America Lion of Judah program. "(DENVER) — JEWISHcolorado, in collaboration with its partner organization, Secure Community Network (SCN), will host two High Holiday safety & security trainings in September. The trainings will take place on Thursday, September 12, and Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5-7 pm at JEWISHcolorado. Secure Community Network is the largest Jewish security organization in North America, working with hundreds of synagogues to provide safety guidance and threat intelligence. Jewish Federations of North America Elkana Bohbot, 34, is a son, brother, husband, and father to a 3-year-old boy. When Hamas attacked the Supernova festival, Elkana told his wife and mother he was helping evacuate the wounded. The next they saw of him was a video Hamas released on Telegram, tied up and bloodied. All of the hostages must come home. #BringThemHomeNOW #BringThemAllHome

Nearly 100 members of Colorado’s mountain communities gathered at the Chabad JCC Aspen on July 11 to socialize, hear from JEWISHcolorado leaders, and listen to a presentation from Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh, the first Druze woman to anchor a Hebrew-language news program on Israeli television and the first female Druze member of Israel’s legislature." Jewish Federations of North America are overjoyed and relieved with the rest of Israel and the Jewish people on the successful rescue of Qaid Farhan al-Qadi, 52. Al-Qadi, a father of 11, is from a Bedouin Arab community near the southern city of Rahat. He was working as a guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen on Oct. 7 when he was abducted by Hamas terrorists. In this moment of celebration, we also remember that 108 hostages remain in Hamas captivity. They must come home.

JEWISHcolorado Real Estate & Construction Network "Usually, the summer JEWISHcolorado Real Estate & Construction (RECN) event sees a drop in attendance. After all, it is summer with vacations and competing events. But more than 80 members of the Colorado real estate universe packed the lobby of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center the evening of July 25. No surprise, perhaps, because it was the first event hosted by the new RECN Chair, Stuart Zall. “My goal as chair is to build on the successes of [former Board Chair] Rob [Kaufmann] and [former RECN chair Mark [Sidell],” said Zall. “I want to grow RECN and have it continue to be the place for tier-one real estate and construction decision makers to meet new and upcoming talent.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gC6MJGZT

Last night's Annual Meeting was an incredible evening of celebration, gratitude, and love. Todah rabah to all our guests and Mazel Tov once again to our honorees. We look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful Jewish community in the coming year. 🕊️💙
