Earlier this week, CEO David Bryfman joined leading voices at the General Assembly in Washington, D.C., to discuss the future of Jewish education in a rapidly changing world. In a powerful session, David and other leaders from organizations like UJA-Federation of New York, Shalom Hartman Institute, Taglit-Birthright Israel, and others tackled pressing issues, including Israel education, antisemitism, and fostering Jewish pride in the wake of 10/7. Together, they explored how Jewish education can evolve to meet the urgent needs of learners and communities while drawing strength from its timeless values. This conversation reaffirmed our commitment to empowering educators with innovative tools to inspire resilience, pride, and deep engagement—even in the most challenging times.

As part of Project Bet-A professional development for our NNJ cohort, we had our educators continue their growth with our planned activity of hatchet throwing. What better way to let off some steam post-High Holidays/beginning of the school year/Election Day?! A bit more about Project Bet-A: Central to each plan is an approach that allows educators to improve the learner experience by addressing the why, what, and how of their educational approach. Through exploration of MAP – My Aspirations Playbook, developing leadership and teaching skills, learning from others’ successes, and building capacities to make change, educators will be empowered to transform their learning environment after this two-year program. The first year of professional learning will be a deep dive into one facet of meaningful Jewish education. As we learn, we will reflect on how this deep dive helps us understand why Jewish education matters to each practitioner so that they can define and develop a professional vision. This encompasses defining learning outcomes through exposure to educational frameworks, exploring the foundations of change as a leader, and embracing approaches to innovation. The second year of professional learning will focus on clarifying their “why” for Jewish education, articulating how they will make change, and stating what they want to change. David Levy

As we look at the future of #Israel education, it's just as critical to look back and reflect on how we as #educators have succeeded and could have improved in this holy work. On this week's hard-hitting episode of Adapting, David Bryfman and Dr. Zohar Raviv look inward, encouraging educators to be self-critical and self-reflective. For those who care about the fate of #Jewish pride, you won't want to miss this episode. Listen here: https://bit.ly/3Am3isN Apple: https://apple.co/3YF2hnv Spotify: https://spoti.fi/40z1kzJ
