The Jacksonville Transportation Authority does not back down from a challenge, even when the weather threatens to disrupt service and cause potential challenges to the region. In preparation for #HurricaneMilton passing through Florida, our facilities & maintenance crew, customer service team, safety & security team, and operators & dispatchers, are all in position to maintain service and keep our customers moving for as long as it is safe to do so. So far, our operations team has helped evacuate 60+ individuals from the Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless to a shelter in a safer location, and we transported over 90 journeymen electricians & emergency powerline crews to and from their hotels and into their response ready positions. We have also been offering free transportation to any of the open shelters through our fixed-route service for anyone needed to relocate. It’s an all-hands on deck, teamwork approach at the JTA ensuring that our assistance and evacuation resources are in a proper state of readiness. It is our responsibility and our privilege to serve the community. City of Jacksonville #frontlineemployees
