Moxy Boulder, also known as the ‘Hill Hotel,’ officially opened its doors in May! This 189-room hotel is located at the northern edge of Boulder’s University Hill neighborhood. It features below-grade parking, 5,700 sq. ft. of meeting space, and 9,500 sq. ft. of street-level retail that complements the neighboring local shops and maximizes transparency along each street frontage. The terraced public plazas are designed for both active and laid-back use, while the hotel lobby serves as a welcoming public living room. Inside and out, the space will be a lively gathering spot that captures the true spirit of the Hill neighborhood. JVA was proud to provide civil and structural services for Vaisala's new net-zero energy Colorado HQ in Louisville, CO. Finland-based Vaisala is a global leader in weather, environmental, and industrial measurements. JVA's structural team designed the connection of the solar panels to the building. JVA's Senior Project Manager Brett Robinson led the structural engineering efforts for the panels, ensuring the sleek vertical solar array could withstand Colorado's extreme wind conditions. This innovative approach enhanced the building's aesthetics and contributed significantly to its sustainability goals.
