Amazing view from a recent pre-proposal walk with a client. This photo made me reflect on the wide breadth of opportunities my team and I encounter. Whether below grade in a tiny vault, in a multi-story parking garage, or in this case on the 42nd floor balcony, all concrete exposed to the elements requires continual maintenance and attention. To all the facility managers out there entering into budgeting season, remember to include professional consultations in your numbers for 2025. If you're unsure of what those should be, I'm more than happy to meet you for a walkthrough of your structure. https://lnkd.in/g7UMhxY4

Martin/Martin thrives on innovation, and we also love to throw a party. So we combined the two for our second annual Shark Tank Competition! Four teams presented their novel ideas for the “Sharks” (MM Leadership) who had the tough job of judging the creativity on display. And what's a party without a little ambiance? 🦈🎉

West Security Checkpoint? Check! Now we're making major progress at East Security!"

We've hit a milestone: Our future East Security Checkpoint is 50% complete! The pedestrian bridge between the two checkpoints is taking shape, flooring is going in, and openings are in place for the second triple escalator and elevators to the train. “Reaching the halfway point of the East Security Checkpoint buildout is an important milestone in this monumental program that renovates the Terminal. We are currently tracking ahead of schedule and under budget,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. East Security is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2025.

Martin/Martin recently presented a course titled "Security by Design and Blast Effects" to G Squared Design. This course covered essential principles for designing building structures with security and blast resilience in mind. Key topics included: ➡ Blast Consequences: An overview of the effects of both intentional and accidental blasts and strategies to mitigate these impacts through effective site design and planning. ➡ Blast Effects on Structures: Understanding how blast loads behave and their impact on building structures. ➡ Progressive Collapse: Defining progressive collapse and exploring how architectural design can enhance structural performance. ➡ Blast-Resistant Façade Systems: A foundational look at designing façades that resist blast forces. Martin/Martin offers a series of #AIA continuing education classes for architects and owners, focusing on various structural, civil engineering, and building enclosure topics from an engineering perspective. We're thrilled to celebrate the topping out ceremony at our Revival on Platte project, marking a major milestone for this new apartment building near Mile High. Our CES team, in collaboration with BLUvera and Mortenson, has been hard at work on this seven-story, CFS load-bearing structure. The team utilized prefabricated exterior wall panels, assembled off-site and installed with precision, improving quality and reducing waste. #coldformedsteel #constructionengineeringservices

Exciting times at the Mass Timber Group Summit in Denver! The buzz around the potential for timber structures in our market is real, especially with Type IVB buildings offering competitive advantages. Proud to see the summit hosted at one of our projects, the stunning Sturm Grand Pavilion at the Denver Art Museum!

Structural Engineer specializing in the design of buildings. Working to reduce embodied carbon in our projects.

Having a blast at the Mass Timber Group Summit in Denver this week! My takeaways so far: ◼ More timber structures are coming. There is massive potential in the Denver market and the momentum is continuing to build. ◼ Multiple speakers and attendees mentioned that Type IVB structures are looking like the sweet spot. With code-permitted heights of up to 12 stories or 180 feet, there is a huge potential to capture lots of square footage, making wood more cost-competitive with concrete and light-gage systems. ◼ Shigeru Ban is one of the most inspiring architects of our time. His designs have had such a profound impact on humanity and it is so inspiring to see how his work has positively impacted so many communities. Bonus that they chose to host the summit at a Martin/Martin, Inc project: the Sturm Grand Pavilion at the Denver Art Museum. Nic Wilson, Brady Potts, Tim Lack, Colin Mitchell, P.E.
