A trending new look…K-12 by Elior pilots the relaunch of its new high school environmental brand at Oak Lawn Community High School where vibrant new graphics, digital innovation and contemporary equipment entices students to exciting menu items for breakfast and lunch. “I love all the changes that happened here at Oak Lawn, and the students love it too,” says Oak Lawn Superintendent Joseph McCurdy, who oversees an enrollment of 1,800 students. Students enjoy healthy meal options from the main course, pizza station, an expansive salad bar, and a trending grab-n-go. A new action station will also feature cultural menu items. Dining services is led by FSD Ayesha Edwards-Rasul and District Manager Tom Belanger, with a special thank you to Corporate Executive Chef Corey Sanville, who helped to design the menu for the unveiling event. July is National Culinary Arts Month – and, Elior’s July So Good seasonal foods promotion that featured “Cucumbers” as the healthy ingredient in Asian Pickles, Cucumber Salsa and Cucumber Pineapple Orange Juice are served during catered events at the hands of Food Service Director and Chef Adam Gentles of Benson Unified School District in Arizona. “I have the pleasure to lead a talented team of food service workers, and a unique opportunity to play an integral role in not only ensuring students receive excellent meals every day, but I also foster a love and appreciation for food and cooking," says Chef Adam who received his culinary degree from the Le Cordon Bleu School in Austin, Texas and conducted his internship at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. “Being a chef is an adventure, you try new recipes, you learn from your mistakes, and have fun, because putting smiles on those that are enjoying your food, is the best feeling in the world!" #nationalculinaryarts #cucumbers #k12 #creativechefs #talentedteams #diningexperiences #seasonalfoods
