About us
Founded in 2002, the Korean American Community Foundation (KACF) funds community-based non-profit organizations working to improve lives and transform communities in the Korean and Asian American communities in the greater New York area. We were honored to help co-sponsor the first-ever #Chuseok celebration at the White House with the Council of Korean Americans. It was deeply moving to see Korean Americans from across the country gathered on the steps of the White House to celebrate our heritage and how we have enriched the vibrant fabric of American life and society. Sharing our abundance with our community is deeply embedded in Korean culture and traditions, and has been integral to our identity and contributions as Korean Americans. It lies at the heart of KACF’s mission and we look forward to continuing to foster a culture of giving in our community to build a more abundant future for all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Phil Kim, Grace Choi, Jumee Song, and all of the leadership who worked behind the scenes to make this historic celebration at the White House possible. Thank you for the overwhelming response to our first Giving Summit in Los Angeles! We were thrilled to have a sold-out event and felt deeply grateful to be welcomed by a full house of 200+ Korean Americans and friends from Southern California and beyond. It was truly inspiring to see generations of Korean Americans sharing their stories and diverse perspectives on giving, and to celebrate our small but mighty community as a force for change! Being Korean is pretty cool right now—K-pop, K-dramas, K-food, and K-beauty are making waves around the world. Yet it is the power of 'K-giving' that will keep us connected deeply to our roots, to one another, and to the #KoreanAmerican future that we can build together. As KACF expands nationally to ignite a greater movement of philanthropy by and for our community, we look forward to being a part of your K-giving journey. Stay tuned for more insights and learnings from the Summit!
