🎣Retirement Announcement for Duane Baldwin We are honored to announce the retirement of Duane Baldwin, who has dedicated 20 remarkable years to Keesen Landscape as our Plant Health Care Manager. Duane has been the heart and soul of our plant health care team, sharing his wisdom, passion, and unique “Baldwinisms”—comical advice peppered with common sense—that have become legendary around here. As Duane embarks on this new chapter, he looks forward to spending more time indulging in his favorite pastimes, lake and ice fishing. We’re thrilled to share that Duane has graciously agreed to stay on part-time, ensuring we continue to benefit from his vast knowledge and infectious humor. Important Update on Colorado Legislation Impacting Backflow Testing (HB24-1344) Starting July 1, 2024, Colorado's new legislation (HB24-1344) will require a plumbing license to test, repair, and inspect backflow assemblies. This change, introduced without stakeholder input, could significantly disrupt the backflow testing industry. Key Concerns: - Impact on Compliance: Approximately 95-98% of backflow testing in Colorado is performed by non-plumber certified testers. This legislation may hinder compliance with CDPHE Regulation 11.39. - Business Closures: Hundreds of testers and companies could be forced out of business overnight, and ABPA certification exams and training schools might shut down. - Public Water Systems: The reliance on non-plumber testers could negatively affect cross-connection control programs, leading to a shortage of available and affordable testing services. Take Action: If you disagree with this change, contact your legislative representative and send your concerns to: - Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment: cdphe_wqcd_fss_questions@state.co.us - Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA), State Plumbing Board: dora_plumbingboard@state.co.us We are stronger together.
