Developing a state-of-the-art GPS-denied navigation system involves a rigorous process of writing code, flying, and refining—day in and day out. Thanks to the exceptional dedication and expertise of the KEF team, we are honored to have been selected by the Air Force for a $1.1M TACFI grant. Thank you to the Pittsburgh Business Times and Jake Dabkowski for a great writeup regarding ongoing efforts with AFWERX. https://lnkd.in/dQzHYB5s

We are excited to announce that KEF Robotics has secured a $1M TACFI from AFWERX to enhance our navigation software. This funding will boost our capabilities over open water, hazard avoidance during night operations and enhance manned/unmanned teaming performance. CEO Fraser Kitchell calls this the ‘Do Cool Stuff’ contract, aimed at making aircraft safer, smarter, and stealthier. A special thank you to Donald Gansberger and Phil Hahn. https://lnkd.in/eEmaQfDt

In lieu of using LiDAR, Gaussian Splatting allows us to create detailed 3D maps. Check out this video highlighting rapid feature development integrated with a third-party built UAS. Our #Defense partners can: -Reconstruct UAV imagery into 3D maps -Precisely identify key structures and entry points -Gain a tactical advantage by using this near real-time mapping to improve mission planning and situational awareness All processing was done in-house, ensuring security and efficiency without relying on the cloud. Project led by Dennis Loevlie.
