Kettering Health Foundation will match a $25,000 grant from the Cincinnati Bengals and the NFL Foundation’s Club Matching Athletic Trainer Grant program for a total of $50,000 to keep high school athletes healthy. The money will be used to improve access to athletic training services and improve equipment at 17 local schools.

Batiste, a board-certified interventional cardiologist and regional chief of cardiology for Southern California Permanente Medical Group, gave a speech to the 150+ Kettering Health residents and employees in attendance.

It's DAISY day! 🌼 Congratulations to Cierra Clark, Kettering Health Washington Township's DAISY Award winner! Cierra works in Labor and Delivery and was nominated by a patient for easing her nerves before her C-section. Cierra stayed by the patient's side before and after surgery, and her positive attitude comforted her. "She showed concern, compassion, love, and nurture," says the patient. "That is exactly what I needed in a caregiver." Thank you for going above and beyond, Cierra!

The Kettering Health Rural Health Family Medicine Residency team recently held its annual training event to provide education on common farm safety hazards and rural healthcare needs. Dr. Wes Halderman, associate program director at the Soin Family Medicine Residency, and rural faculty member Dr. Erica Seabold planned the event, which started with a tour of Kettering Health Jamestown Health Center. The Boonshoft School of Medicine students and rural pathway resident physicians from Kettering Health’s Soin Family Medicine Residency in attendance also toured local farms to better understand various health hazards from machinery and chemicals often used.

Our Outpatient Rehabilitation team recently volunteered with the Kettering Backpack Program (KBP) to deliver food to Kettering students facing food insecurity. Hundreds of students rely on school meals, and KBP works to give meals to students for the weekend when school breakfast and lunch aren't available. In total, the team packed 250 bags! Thank you for making a difference in our community!

The 31st Annual Circle of Victory Walk took place this past weekend, raising over $30,000. The event, held every October, benefits the Greene Medical Foundation's Circle of Victory Fund, which supports cancer patients in Greene County. "Every step we took represented hope, strength, and our collective resolve to make a difference," said John Nafie, director of the Greene Medical Foundation. "Together, we achieved more than just fundraising; we uplifted spirits, raised awareness, and showed the power of unity in the fight against cancer. A heartfelt thank you to all who participated, donated, and volunteered."

On October 18, Kettering Health Hamilton and our Breast Health teams hosted Pink Around the Square at Rotary Park in Downtown Hamilton to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event included a women's health expo to educate women on breast health and to honor those affected by breast cancer. Attendees also had the opportunity to schedule their annual mammogram, visit education booths, grab lunch, and shop from local vendors. The Mayor of Hamilton also attended to give a proclamation declaring October 18 Breast Cancer Awareness Day for the city. Thank you to everyone who participated!
