📣🤝 The Texas Workforce Partnership Initiative Roundtable was a great success! Thank you to all the East Texas business leaders who collaborated with local educators and workforce partners to align workforce education with industry needs. The roundtable featured valuable insights from Kilgore companies committed to effectively shaping the future of our workforce and ensuring the community stays competitive. Participants included local representatives from Camfil USA Air Filtration Company, Communications & Power Industries (CPI), Closure Systems International (CSI), Gem-Trim of Houma LLC, Cleveland Steel Container and East Texas Salt Water Disposal. We want to recognize Kilgore College for championing workforce development and for the leadership that Brenda S. Kays, Ed.D. displayed in achieving successful passage of HB 8, which focuses community college funding on career pathways and credentials of value that fit the needs of employers. Several economic development organizations partnered with us on the initiative: Longview Economic Development Corporation, Marshall Economic Development Corporation, Gladewater Economic Developmemt Corporation (GEDCO), and White Oak Economic Development Corporation.
