Reposting this for the weekend LinkedIn junkies out there. www.kindo.ai has been getting a ton of requests lately for more information on our philosophy around data security and the use of AI in corporations; this interview with Ron Williams sums it up fairly nicely. Thanks again to Mike Giambattista and TheCustomer for the original post and interview. #chatgpt #opensourceai #secureai #cio #ciso #hr #itsecurity #openai #claudeai #anthropic #mistral #mixtral #huggingface

It would be difficult to overstate our appreciation for Riot Ventures's early belief in Ron Williams' and Kindo's vision for a world of Secure AI. We are deeply thankful for the faith and confidence of all our believers and investors....looking at you Sunset Ventures, Drive Capital, RRE Ventures, Marlinspike, Eniac Ventures, and New Era Ventures. Thank you for your trust and confidence.

Two years ago today Kindo closed our initial pre-seed SAFE with the amazing Venice California based Riot Ventures who took the leap of faith 6 weeks before the world knew about ChatGPT. There were almost zero investors in Silicon Valley or Los Angeles who could make the leap that the world had changed (we ran into well known VCs who told us that LLMs were toys 😂). True seed stage investors are what make the whole venture ecosystem work and they are not celebrated enough. Kindo is now 34 talented people, raised $27.6M and helping $Billion+ companies securely deploy generative AI to their workforce around the USA. Thank you Stephen Marcus, Will Coffield and Meghan Moreland for jumping in early with us! We would not be where are today without your support.

Liminal and Kevin DePopas get it….

GTM @ Liminal | Sharing my journey with AI data security 🔐

Businesses are hunting for genAI use cases tied to ROI. But they're missing the first use case in front of them. Enabling secure genAI adoption amongst employees... Your first AI use case isn't a business problem. It's a security and compliance problem. A 'meta' use case that unlocks all others. Dogmatically tying use cases to ROI creates a "chicken and egg problem." - Without access to genAI, you're blind to your best use cases. - Without visibility into emerging use cases, it's hard to tie to ROI. Meanwhile, most enterprises have blocked employee access to genAI. Essentially saying "we don't trust you to innovate." They've cut the legs out from under grassroots, bottom-up innovation... And value creation. Imagine saying "I won't give my employees computers until I know exactly what they'll do with them." Your employees are already innovating with genAI. They're just doing it on personal devices, where you can't see it. And yes, without security measures in place. A recent Microsoft survey found 75% of knowledge workers now use AI. Nearly double from 6 months ago. 78% have adopted AI on their own. Welcome to the era of 'bring your own AI'. My perspective, enterprises will see immense near-term value from driving secure genAI adoption on company networks and devices. This is your first AI use case. Focus on adoption and usage first. Let end-users surface the highest-value use cases. Then automate. ROI will follow. You don't need an AI center of excellence to tell you that. You need your security team to enable it.

Bob Ballings ✔ makes a great point about effective interaction with AI. AI models are extremely capable, but they can’t read your mind. You need to be clear about what you want…just like with an inexperienced child or with an inexperienced (but very smart) intern.

Promptologist, The Ai prompt builder | Learn how AI interprets words | Ai Trainer & E-Book author.

Simplifying AI Adoption to Unlock More Time Every Day

There are dozens of AI models that are high quality, fast, and inexpensive. Each of them is unique. How do you find the right one for you? Through experimentation. Yet another sign that backs up www.kindo.ai 's thesis that we are still in the very early innings of a very long ballgame when it comes to AI...and EXACTLY why companies should definitely strive to avoid vendor lock-in when it comes to AI. Sounds like Microsoft and OpenAI might be having a bit of a tiff...which could have enormous impacts on the ecosystem in the coming years. From the article: "...in March, Microsoft paid at least $650 million to hire most of the staff from Inflection, an OpenAI competitor. Inflection’s former chief executive and co-founder, Mustafa Suleyman, oversees a new Microsoft group that is working to build A.I. technologies for consumers based on OpenAI software. He is also the point person for Microsoft’s long-term effort to build technologies that could replace what the company is getting from OpenAI, according to two people familiar with Microsoft’s plans." Kindo's Security-first AI Broker platform helps CIO's stay ahead of the game as these inevitable twists and turns happen.
