Our office in Germantown has been hard at work this #ParkAndRecMonth on the second phase of two different projects. In the City of Greenfield, WI, the Powerline Trail started in June with anticipated completion by the end of August. In Waukesha County Parks & Land Use, our team is assisting with ongoing helical pile and fishing pier construction. Construction season is in full swing. Folks in our Germantown office have been working hard on multiple projects. In Washington County, we opened State Highway 83 in mid-June, and US Highway 45 which just started on July 8th and has a completion date in early November. We’re proud to collaborate with WisDOT on these projects, improving connectivity and infrastructure in Washington County. Stay tuned for more updates from our Germantown office.

Our construction and design team are always learning and building on their experiences, and our recent work on Waucheeta Trail is no exception. We were happy to assist Dane County Parks with this trail project. The project started in the early summer months, with a similar boardwalk style we’ve worked with in the past. Engineers in the field have been utilizing lessons learned from those previous projects to better build the trail. This is a quick turnaround for our team, with completion occurring midsummer. Soon enough, you can enjoy this hard work and make the Waucheeta Trail #WhereYouBelong this #ParkandRecMonth! National Recreation and Park Association

How an area is lit can make a community feel welcoming and warm. Recently, KL’s Jake Joyal and Tony Steinert were involved in a project on the commercialized segment of Becher Street in the City of West Allis. The project installed new decorative street lighting, with additional string lighting supported by the poles. The result is a magical, inviting atmosphere that is quite impressive to see in action.

The Jefferson Interurban Trail project is a 5-mile trail that will connect Watertown to Oconomowoc, following the historic former Interurban Rail Line. KL Engineering was thrilled to assist Jefferson County, Wisconsin on the second phase of a transformative trail project, as well as continuing work on the trail this summer. In the current phase and beyond, our designers and engineers made it a priority to preserve the natural beauty of the area. Our design meets WisDOT and ADA standards while navigating challenging terrain and utility routes. This required tremendous coordination with multiple stakeholders. We’ve worked closely with We Energies, as well as our stakeholders and community members to ensure minimal impact on wetlands and existing agricultural crossings. We can’t wait until The Jefferson Interurban Trail can be #WhereYouBelong! #ParkandRecMonth #ParkandRecMonth24

It is always a pleasure to collaborate with our community partners, but especially when we get to modernize their electrical technology. We have recently been involved in electrical design for both the Main St and Vine St parking lot reconstruction projects in The City of West Bend. Each installation included electrical infrastructure for two EV pedestals with charging capacity for up to four vehicles. EV charging infrastructure was carefully coordinated with We Energies to take full advantage of their pilot program, which will provide reimbursement for the construction cost of the electrical service. Keep an eye out for our presentation at upcoming conferences, where we will be discussing Implementation of EV Charging in Municipalities and including a case study from this project.
