Very pleased to share Episode #118 of Icons of DC Area Real Estate #iconsdc featuring Daniel Klein, President of Klein Enterprises, a Baltimore based real estate investment firm. You may ask why a 43 year old executive would qualify as an "Icon," however, Daniel established himself as a leader early in his life and excelled at most of his endeavors. He grew up in a four generation real estate family in Baltimore, raised primarily by his grandparents. Supporting himself through Boston University as a successful real estate agent and broker, he could have remained there after college, but his grandfather called him back to the family business. Through serendipity, he partnered with and helped JBG SMITH (JBG Company a the time) to develop the Social Security Administration facility in West Baltimore and it educated him quickly about institutional real estate. Using this knowledge he began broadening his sites beyond grocery anchored retail to apartments, self storage and townhouse developments and investments. Turbocharging his company's growth was an investment by Almanac Realty Investors, a strategic entity level investor, who provided financial support and guidance into larger and more institutional opportunities.
