We won’t sugarcoat it: Being a teen in 2024 comes with a plethora of nuanced challenges that create social and emotional turmoil. In fact, 63% of middle and high schoolers report having an emotional meltdown, according to an ACLU and CSU report. With provider shortages and accessibility issues, it’s harder for young people and vulnerable groups to access treatment. To combat this ongoing crisis, California invested in a technological solution with Soluna, our free mental health app for 13-25 year olds. Soluna not only promotes overall wellbeing, but encourages young people to address behavioral health challenges early on. A we enter into an especially hectic time of year, consider sharing this free resource with the student(s) in your life to help them better manage stressors. https://lnkd.in/gvGUU-Ze To learn more, visit solunaapp.com.

“A lot of people say cost is the major boundary between them and the mental health services they need. You've got this supercomputer in your pocket and it just opens this door for universal and equitable access to care.” —Dr. Laura Tully Ph.D., Kooth VP of Clinical Integrations and Partnerships The Soluna app offers free, personalized mental health support to California residents aged 13 to 25 through one-to-one coaching, stress management tools, mental health content, and community support. It’s part of California’s plan to break down the barriers — including cost hurdles — to care. As Dr. Tully explains, Soluna addresses mental health care using a goal-based model, meeting users where they are along their journeys, unlike traditional mental health care, which focuses on reducing symptoms. “Yes-people” – drop a ✋ in the comments…then read this article. In a world full of demands, it’s easy to fall into the habit of saying “yes” to everything. So many of us struggle to set boundaries for fear of rejection, desire for approval, or even out of good manners. But saying “yes” isn’t always the best choice. While it can open doors to new opportunities, overcommitting can lead to stress, burnout, and strained relationships. At Kooth, we’re committed to building psychologically flexible communities by offering digital support for young people. Our resources, tools, and coaching help young people develop crucial skills like boundary setting. #PracticeSayingNo #BoundarySetting #BurnoutPrevention https://lnkd.in/gKNp5ZQ2
