Today, July 27th, marks National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, a day to remember and honor Korean War veterans. Earlier this week, KEI co-hosted a special reception on Capitol Hill along with the Korean American Grassroots Conference (KAGC), the Council of Korean Americans (CKA), the Hwarang Youth Foundation, the Federation of Korean Associations USA, Remember727, and the Korea Society to commemorate this day, generously sponsored by LG. We were grateful to have ROK Consul General Jo Gi-joong, Rep. Young Kim, Rep. Grace Meng, Rep. Jimmy Gomez, and Rep. Vicente Gonzalez share their inspiring remarks. The event also featured special Nanta performances by the Hwarang Youth Foundation, a photo exhibit of the Korean War by Lim In-Sik (South Korea’s first war photographer), and candle lighting at 7:27 pm. Thank you to all the guests, veterans, and community leaders who joined us this week. Let us never forget all the sacrifices made during the Korean War. 📸 PC: Sam de Vignier-Awad and Grace Lim, KEI
