KP is a long-standing supporter of Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT), one of the country’s leading educational and mentorship programs for young men of color which encourages them to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. We were proud to recently host Draymone Edwards, a sophomore at Sacramento State who interned at KP in cooperation with IYT’s public policy summer internship program. Draymone worked directly with KP Partner Brian White who provided guidance and mentorship as Draymone successfully learned about the legislative process and government relations, including some of the emerging energy and transportation issues discussed during the 2024 legislative session. #IYT

Last week, KP’s Brian White, Ed Manning, and Brenda Bass toured the San Diego headquarters of our newest client - General Atomics. General Atomics Energy Group is a major private sector partner that conducts fusion research for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and across the globe, in addition to supporting national security with cutting edge technology. KP will be working with the fusion industry, business groups, scientists, and researchers to educate state legislators, policymakers, and stakeholders about the clean energy and economic benefits of fusion technology, with the possibility of trying to secure federal and state funding for demonstration projects.
