We are always ready to answer the call when disaster strikes. We are in Harrisburg on day two helping PPL Corporation restore power after Hurricane Debby wreaked havoc in the Greater Harrisburg Area. We have been directly working on the affected neighborhoods that are confirmed tornado struck during the storms. https://lnkd.in/evCV-7dK

We had the pleasure and honor of being a sponsor for the NSUJL Climbing for Lost Lineman Rodeo in Hazleton, PA. The organization always does such a great job honoring the brothers & sisters who have fallen in and out of the trade. It was great to partner with other great companies like PPL Corporation to make the event a great success.

Please enjoy this video of another demolition effort that took place this weekend as part of the $329M CAP Project. In order to build the new 11-acre pedestrian bridge park, we had to first demolish the existing bridge at Front & Chestnut. This portion, containing 104 box beams extending over I-95 Southbound as well as the Market Street on-ramp, was a much more difficult task than the recent I-95 Northbound demo due to having to close BOTH I-95 SB and I-676 Eastbound On-Ramp completely, with limited access in and out to haul debris away. We had 36 hours to get it done. Our subcontractor Atlantic Coast Dismantling, LLC absolutely crushed this. The vast number of gigantic excavators with hammers, shears, and munchers as well as huge Yuke dump trucks hauling away debris felt like a Transformers movie. Also a gigantic effort was made by our crews at Buckley & Company, Inc., Established Traffic Control (signage), Kuharchik Construction (electric), B Blair CORP (trucking) Zone Striping Inc (line striping), as well as Pennoni (engineering), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), City of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Police Department, working around the clock in unison to get this completed. And every single worker went home safe (and tired) at the end of the day. This is America at its finest. Drone video was taken by Billy Kyle.

Kuharchik Construction, Inc crews had the privledge of working alongside Buckley & Company, Inc. removing the old highway lighting and retiming the traffic signals in preparation for the monumental bridge demolition on Interstate 95. Part of our scope of work included the installation of this time-lapse camera which captured all the action of the Central Access Philadelphia Project.
