Happy Tuesday LinkedIn (I had some fun making this video) I've been working on something for a VIP client. We wondered how to make introductions easier. At the heart of the issue was - how to be strategic and how to leverage what I already knew. It got me thinking of a solution. --- Then, confirmed - I recently posted a poll about how well you're leveraging your LinkedIn network? Most responses were: Not Enough. --- So here's a quick video of ONE way I found to better harness the data available so Redcraft Consulting Inc. and its VIPs can do this better in the future. --- Do you like it? >> Let me know in the comments<< PS: a virtual coffee chat and i'll show you how :) #linkedin #networking #redcraft Song Credit: Chris Isaak - "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing" Tool Credit: Kumu Marie-Claude Leclerc

Project of the Week Take a look at the incredible way Ashley Hughes and Yulia C. tell the Story of the Prevention Research Centers Network! In their own words, "Bringing a Complex Human Systems Network to Life Through Dynamic Network Data Visualization" https://lnkd.in/dfjsMuZj We love the way they introduce the different members of the network through shapes and colors, show us how to filter for things like longevity and participation, then start showing subnetworks and connections. #cancerprevention #datavisualization #networkmapping Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Music by Ivan Ohanezov from Pixabay

Project of the Week We love the way Jen Stumbles captioned this project: “A Future-ready System Story.” It’s an exploration of the education ecosystem in Australia that she completed as part of a Foresight program at the University of Houston! What we love about it is how she’s used selectors to allow us to highlight specific connections in the map - showcasing three perturbations in the system activated by root causes: Underfunding, OverTesting, and Edtech Power. She writes, “I’ve chosen to explore these root issues as I believe they’re causing significant perturbations within the system. As the system adapts and reorganises itself in an attempt to restabilise, we’re seeing new new goal-setting and adaptive behaviours which themselves are being amplified by reinforcing loops, and functioning to further embed inequity within the system.” Something else clever in this project is Jen’s use of emojis in the labels, for example where 🔄 is used to signal reinforcing loops! Super cool idea! https://buff.ly/48nDOHY #dataviz #futurists #systemsmapping #foresight #systemsthinking

At the recent ECMC Foundation CTE Leadership Collaborative Convening in Chicago, we wanted to ensure that the connections made among attendees could continue long after the event. As part of our programming design, we incorporated a network map to help visualize the relationships, resources, and opportunities within the community. 🌐 We leveraged Kumu to share a visual representation of the network, enabling attendees to see how they’re connected and identify opportunities for future collaboration. Visualizing the network isn’t just about mapping who’s involved – it’s about fostering ongoing relationships and driving long-term impact. 🤝 Designing intentional experiences that nurture communities is at the core of what we do, and visualizing these networks is a crucial step toward enabling real connection and eventual impact. We're always looking for innovative tools to help make that possible. We’d love to know the tools you’ve found useful in fostering connection, collaboration and/or collective impact. 💡 Want to bring your network to life? Whether you're curious about mapping your network for a convening or ongoing community-building, we’d love to help you visualize your community and create meaningful connections. Let’s chat about how we can support your network-building efforts and bring your vision to life. ✨ ✨

Project of the Week! We love seeing projects from all sorts of sectors, including sports! This week #AmericasCup, a sailing competition, is happening in Barcelona. Hex Digital recently shared how they used a systems thinking lens to understand how team New Zealand dominated the 2017 cup despite their tiny budget! The system they describe includes factors like materials, budget, and training, and how one person shifted the dynamics in adapting a new technology (the cyclor system). Hex Digital did a great job isolating and describing different aspects of the New Zealand team's success from a system's lens, and we think it's pretty cool they used Kumu to do it! https://lnkd.in/eUFAjVS4
How do you beat $400m with $40m? With the America's Cup now in full swing in Barcelona, we thought we'd share the story of one of the greatest innovation triumphs—how Team New Zealand earned their maverick legacy by pioneering the 'cyclor' system in 2017. To unpack the true genius behind their performance, we've analysed the innovation through a systems thinking lens with Kumu—a powerful tool for mapping complexity. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eUFAjVS4 (Viewing on a larger screen is recommended) #Innovation #SystemsThinking #TeamNewZealand #AmericasCup #Cyclor #StrategicInnovation #Kumu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ♻ Please share if you've found this interesting and follow us for insights on systems thinking and how it applies to experience design

This week, we’re highlighting a project from Professor Kim Blackmore, Senior Fellow in the ANU Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program, which examines the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Australia. The project explores the interaction of social, economic, political, and environmental factors influencing the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to EVs. Despite resistance from the ICE industry, recent government policies and incentives have accelerated EV uptake. Using systems mapping, the project visualizes how factors like improving charging infrastructure and reducing EV costs can reinforce adoption, creating a positive feedback loop. This provides a comprehensive view of how these elements interact and the momentum building around EV adoption in Australia.
