🌈 A Day of Community, Connection, and Celebration! 🌈 On Sunday, October 20th, hundreds of LGBTQ+ youth and their allies joined us at the Anita May Rosenstein Campus in Hollywood for our annual Models of Pride summit! For more than three decades, Models of Pride has worked to uplift and empower the next generation of our movement. It’s an honor to create this affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth, their parents, and educators. Together, we celebrated the joy of living authentically and with Pride. Social media icon and beauty mogul Bretman Rock headlined the event, accepting the Model of Pride Award with a powerful message: “The world is gonna bully you; you cannot be your biggest bully.” Seeing the hundreds of youth in attendance embrace these words serves as a powerful reminder of why we host Models of Pride year after year. This year’s summit was packed with 14 interactive workshops on key topics, including: 👩👩👧 LGBTQ+ Affirming Parenting 💼 Financial Planning for Youth 🌈 Starting a GSA with Pride ✨ Self-Empowerment & Mindfulness 🎃 Behind-the-Scenes at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights Each session provided a safe space for self-expression, practical learning, and community-building. We were also thrilled to host over 30 incredible community organizations and corporate partners at the Models of Pride Resource Fair, all dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ youth thrive! We're grateful to our fabulous presenting sponsor, BMO, senior sponsors, Comcast, Glamazon L.A.—Amazon’s LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group, NYX Professional Makeup, and U.S. Bank, junior sponsors Edison International, Waymo, YITTY, and Freshman sponsor First Citizens Bank, for making this one-of-a-kind summit possible. Together, we created an informative, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. Proud to share this message from one of our Board members, Kimberly Nao! Thank you for your continued support of the affirming work happening at Center South. 🌈
I am so proud to be a member of the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Executive Board. Part of the reason is the incredible work of the team at Center South right in the heart of Leimert Park. The Center provides community, safety, and health care to an underserved area in need, particularly for Black and brown folks. The Center commits to taking an intersectional approach to the work guided by values of community, integrity, courage, liberation, and joy! It was great to visit the Center South booth at a Taste of Soul Family Festival and to see how busy they were meeting and greeting a packed crowd. Thanks, Steven Campa and the Center South team for pausing for a pic and most of all for the incredible work you do! #lgbtqia+ #losangeles #DEI #healthcare #pride Los Angeles LGBT Center Joe Hollendoner

October 5th was a night of comunidad y celebración! We gathered at the Center’s Hollywood campus for Queerceañera—our celebration of #LatinxHeritageMonth. The event was a heartfelt reflection of amor y familia, bringing together love, culture, and the deep-rooted sense of community within. Inspired by the warmth of one of our staff's family living rooms, we transformed our portrait studio into a stunning tribute to the beauty of Latinx iconography, culture, and art. With the fabulous Salina EsTitties as our Madrina of Ceremonies and the iconic Kandy Muse as our honoree, the night was filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Mil gracias to our incredible sponsors Angel City Football Club, Curvy Couture Intimates, and Waymo, and a special thank you to the brilliant Carlos Jaramillo for capturing the heart of amor y familia in our #Queerce portrait studio. To everyone who joined us, your presence made this night unforgettable! 💖 We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration. Check out our sizzle reel on Instagram: https://lnkd.in/dwPA4hbH

We cordially invite you to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month with #Queerce! On Saturday, Oct. 5 from 6-10PM, we’re bringing back Queerce, a gender- and expression-inclusive reimagining of the quinceañera tradition. We’re honored to have RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Salina EsTitties as our inaugural ‘Madrina’ and Kandy Muse as our honoree, as we come together to support Mi Centro—a safe haven for LGBTQ+ Latinx individuals in Boyle Heights and the surrounding communities. All proceeds from this unforgettable night will benefit Mi Centro, the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s community site serving Boyle Heights and the greater Southeast LA area. A big thank you to our presenting sponsor Angel City Football Club, and our official sponsors Curvy Couture Intimates and Waymo. RSVP now: lalgbtcenter.org/queerce

Pride Work for Los Angeles LGBT Center 🩵🩷🤍 This weekend, I truly recognized my power as a photographer. Seeing people’s faces light up and their energy shift when I showed them how they looked through my lens was transformative for both them and me. I’m forever grateful that I get to express myself in a way that inspires and uplifts. Special thank you to Phillip Picardi who I’ve been wanting to work with for some years, for allowing me to be a part of this opportunity. 🤎
