“My core team came up with the idea for L.A. Climate Week last fall after seeing what was done around the U.S. and the world and realizing that something needed to be done right here in our hometown,” Dan Thorman said. “The mission of The Collidescope Foundation is ‘doing the hard stuff’ and we know that things like this don’t often happen because they are so hard to organize. And man, has it been hard, but so incredibly rewarding.” ⭐ To read more about the mission + purpose behind LA Climate Week, check out this article: https://lnkd.in/gv-3Jepb

Business Insider Rising Star in Influencer Marketing 2024 | Founder | NYU Alumni | Creative

The inaugural LA Climate Week kicked off on Sunday, and it was incredibly inspiring to be part of it. Huge thanks to Lara Rudar and Jose Cristoff Arce for giving me the opportunity to take the stage for my solo speaking debut. 💓 💓 💓 I am excited to work more with LACW as it grows & develop closer friendships with the people involved. In just three minutes, I touched on the powerful role media plays in shaping what captures young people's attention, the growing number of young people aspiring to be influencers and entrepreneurs, and how getting mainstream influencers involved in climate action could impact consumer trends, political candidates, and even banking choices—along with how Viviene NY is working to make it happen. Stay tuned for the video, and thank you all for the support!

Head of Growth @ Planet FWD | GreenBiz 30U30 | Climate Tech & ESG Investing

I had the honor of performing as part of the opening ceremony for the inaugural LA Climate Week. Usually, I talk about highly technical topics, like Scope 3 decarbonization and life cycle assessments, but this was different. I shared something more personal... my poetry. Poetry is my self-expression. It's how I process my feelings & how I communicate with myself. It felt different to get on stage and share a more vulnerable side of myself. But this is how I want to show up in my work - authentic and whole. Climate work at its core is about #reconnection. Reconnection of humans to the earth, reconnection of our economy to the natural systems that support it, and if you're in this work, reconnection to our own purpose. I walked away feeling more deeply connected to our community than ever. #climateaction #laclimateweek #authenticity

Director of Outreach and Engagement at Animal Outlook

This week is the first ever LA Climate Week and last night, it was so great to hear more about how the City of West Hollywood is tackling the climate crisis, especially as a proud WeHo resident! Earlier this year, the City passed a resolution mandating that plant-based foods be the default option at all city-produced events. This is a fantastic achievement that clearly shows the City is leading by example and enacting plant-based initiatives to tackle climate change - after all, animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of climate change, accounting for at least 16.5% of greenhouse gas emissions. As well as helping to protect the planet, this move is also taking a much-needed stand for animals and the health of the community. I hope that other cities follow in WeHo's footsteps (and the plant-based food served at the event last night was amazing!). A huge thank you to LA Climate Week and Plant Based Treaty for putting on such an inspiring event. And to Mercy For Animals for working to secure this important commitment. #laclimateweek #losangeles #california #climatechange #animalprotection
