Recently, eight of our Corpsmembers graduated from the River Rangers Program, and they were recognized at LA City Hall by the Board of Public Works for their service to the community. For the past year, they’ve protected the public spaces along the Los Angeles River, preserved native flora and fauna, and prevented trash from reaching the ocean. Thank you for your service to the community and our planet. Congratulations! The River Rangers program is a state-funded effort through the #Californiansforall grant. #LARiver #GreenJobs

Our Corpsmember Lorenzo’s #CorpsKudos goes out to our Nursery Manager, Amanda. As our Nursery Manager, Amanda works alongside our Corpsmembers to cultivate the urban tree canopy of the future here in Los Angeles. The care and patience she shows to the plants at the Commonwealth Nursery extend to the Corpsmembers she teaches. We are so happy to have her on our team. ⚾Yesterday, over 100 volunteers from the Los Angeles Dodgers worked alongside our crews in the neighborhoods surrounding Dodger Stadium. ⚾ They picked up trash and removed overgrown weeds, leaving a major impact on the community. Not to mention the generous donation the Dodgers made to support our work throughout the city. 📸 Photo highlights from our Annual Corpsmember Leadership Council Summit! 📸 Leadership Council Corpsmembers from every site came together to learn, connect, grow, and just have fun. They started the day with an introduction to basic yoga and meditation from Slippery Fruit before heading back to our Northeast LA site for wellness trivia, a leadership training workshop with Latinx Education Coach, an exercise on code-switching with our Compton Corpsmember Leslie, and a discussion with our Chief Programs Officer about the budget for Leadership Council-led events across our sites. This was an incredible day of collaboration and learning for our Corpsmembers!
