The Lake City Partners North King County Enhanced Shelter at Aurora Oaks is a key part of the countywide homelessness response system overseen by the King County Regional Homelessness Authority. This 60 bed, continuous stay shelter is a leading example of how an enhanced shelter with integrated Client Services (case management, housing access, etc.) helps people swiftly access permanent supportive housing. This work is only possible thanks to funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce, King County, WA, the City of Shoreline, the City of Kenmore, the City of Bothell Washington, and the City of Seattle. We are grateful for the support and partnership of many local community, faith-based, and philanthropic organizations such as Catholic Community Services, Crista Ministries, Seattle Mennonite Church, NUHSA, SKCCH, Lucky Seven Foundation, and over 30 partner organizations like AURORA COMMONS and Hunger Intervention Program who provide referrals and services. Together, we are helping people who are unsheltered move from tent to front door. #homelessshelter #help #community

Lake City Partner's Outreach Team met Jxxx for the first time at the beginning of 2023. Many in City of Shoreline are familiar with his face as he frequented local businesses, neighborhoods, and the former, rotating winter shelter, and Jxxx had shared with us that he had been experiencing homelessness in the Shoreline area for the last 10+ years. The Outreach Team provided him with supportive services until we were able to move him into our Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter. After being at The Oaks for only 60 days, and thanks to our fast-moving integrated systems approach, LCP was able to secure him a unit in permanent supportive housing through DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center). This housing is close to the neighborhood that he is familiar with and full of the support he needs for this transition. The whole community is cheering for you, Jxxx! Welcome home! #help #nonprofit #support

Welcome home, Mxxxx! Mxxxx has developmental and mental health conditions and entered the foster care system at three years old but never stayed in one place very long. He moved into our Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter in early 2023 at 31 years old and had a stable place and community for the first time. Lake City Partners worked with DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) to secure a brand new apartment for him in the North King County area and he moved into this unit in December 2023. Mxxxx is home at last! #charity #photography #homelesslivesmatter

This week, we got the call: DESC had beds open at The Gateway Emergency Shelter and could we help fill them? We immediately connected with Aurora Commons, another community partner, and between their clients and ours we were able to get 9 people off the streets of North Seattle in less than 36 hours. LCP's integrated partnership approach continues to benefit the wider landscape of homelessness service providers, and our clients are the ones who benefit most of all with speedier and more integrated service offerings. Thank you, DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) and Aurora Commons for your fast-acting work, and commitment to collaborative, community partnerships. #community #homelesslivesmatter
