LCMHS Pediatric nurses are those who provide expert medical care to children from birth through their adolescent years. These nurses also educate families on health and treatment plans, and explain diagnoses to parents. We recognize and thank them for compassionate care and support to our young patients and their families. #PediatricNursesWeek #TeamMemorial

Making quality healthcare close to home a reality since 1952.
About us
Lake Charles Memorial Health System is southwest Louisiana's largest not-for-profit, community healthcare system. Memorial Health System is locally owned and operated by a Board of Trustees from the community it serves. With personalized care for every stage of life, Lake Charles Memorial Health System makes receiving excellent healthcare close to home a reality. Nestled on I-10, two hours from Houston and three hours from New Orleans, Lake Charles Memorial opened its doors in 1952 as a small 100-bed facility. Today, one hospital has grown into a full-service, comprehensive health system spanning a five-parish area across southwest Louisiana. With a 417-bed capacity over three campuses, a 40-bed Level III Trauma Center, and over 300 physician specialists on its medical staff, Lake Charles Memorial responds to the most immediate and primary medical needs of all people in southwest Louisiana. As a cornerstone of the community, Memorial is the second largest employer in the region, offering a place on our team for over 2,500 employees to provide for their families and reach their career goals. Recognized as a 2023 Great Community Hospital by Becker’s Healthcare and by Care Chex as a 2022 Top 10% in the Nation for Heart Attack Treatment, Memorial’s commitment to quality and investment in the latest medical technology, are a few reasons patients and employees choose Memorial as their healthcare home.

Congrats to the team at LCMH who recently completed over ✨300 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedures!✨ TAVR is a minimally invasive alternative to open-heart surgery to treat aortic stenosis, a common but serious valve problem in which the aortic valve opening narrows and restricts blood flow. Reaching the 300th TAVR milestone in the six years of offering this procedure at LCMH is a significant achievement! 🙌 Learn more about TAVR at lcmh.com/TAVR.

Since she was a little girl Brookelyn dreamed of her wedding day, however on September 20, 2024, it looked a little different than she imagined. Just six days before her planned wedding, her dad suffered a major health event that landed him in the ICU. “Even through all of this, Dad was still very adamant that Caleb and I get married. Dad knew years ago this was the man l'd spend the rest of my life with, and he didn't want anything to get in the way of prolonging it,” says Brookelyn. At her dad’s bedside, and surrounded by their parents Brookelyn and Caleb tied the knot. 💙 The nurses and staff tried to make the day as special as possible, and even played a song so Brookelyn and Caleb could share a first dance with her dad present.

The surgical technician nurses of LCMHS are essential to the positive outcomes of our patients, surgeons, and staff. They work mostly behind the scenes before, during and after a procedure, performing peripheral and critical support tasks. We recognize and honor their important contributions to patient care. #TeamMemorial #SurgicalTechNursesWeek

This week we recognize LCMHS Neonatal nurses and APRNs who care for some of the most fragile patients as they take their first breaths. These nurses work tirelessly to ensure that premature, critically ill and even healthy newborn infants are provided the highest level of care immediately following their birth. #TeamMemorial #NeonatalNursesWeek
