Founded in 1887 as a small pea canning company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Lakeside Foods has grown to 13 processing locations in three states, with nearly 1,000 employees year-round and more than 2,000 during seasonal production. FRIDAY FUN FACT... After weeks of great work by our field teams, we've completed more than half of our 2024 pea harvest, with several more weeks to go. Did you know? Over the last few years, we’ve been transitioning our fleet of pea combines to track-driven machines (like the one shown here) because they reduce soil compaction and improve harvesting yields in wet conditions. It's just one of many environmental investments we are making towards a more sustainable future. And with all the rain we’ve experienced in the upper Midwest this year, these machines have been especially valuable! #summerharvest #sustainable #agriculture

It's World Food Safety Day! Our quality assurance teams are hosting events companywide to educate our employees about the importance of food safety. Did you know... Our company prioritized food safety since its earliest beginnings. Back in 1894 our company founder, Albert Landreth, consulted with a bacteriologist from University of Wisconsin's College of Agriculture to reduce vegetable canning spoilage.
