Due to scatter, traditional shielding such as aprons, drapes, and goggles don’t always provide the necessary protection, particularly in certain areas around the table. In addition, passive dosimeters are not able to assist in reducing exposure in real-time. In this webinar, we will review the health risks associated with working in a cath lab. Then, using real-time data, we will demonstrate the ways in which radiation is scattered around the room, where staff is most vulnerable, and how the patient and shielding can impact exposure levels.
