  • We had a fantastic #CommunityConversation about #ElectricVehicles today! Our panelists discussed various aspects of EV ownership, including the financial benefits, highlighting potential long-term savings despite higher initial costs. They emphasized the importance of expanding both public and at-home charging infrastructure to facilitate broader adoption. The discussion also covered current local and federal policies and incentives designed to promote EV use, with suggestions for future enhancements. Technological advancements in battery life, vehicle range, and charging speed were noted as making EVs more practical and accessible. The overarching theme was not about replacing combustion vehicles with EVs but rather about offering more energy choices. This aligns with the broader trend of diversification in work, living, and transportation, aiming to enhance resiliency and adaptability within our communities. Thank you to our amazing panelists for taking the time to speak to our group! 🔥 Joe Gehrdes, Director, External Affairs, Huntsville Utilities 🔥 Thomas Nunez, MURP, City Planning, City of Huntsville, AL 🔥 Jared Mitchem, Regional Vice President, Tennessee Valley Authority 🔥 Moderated by Dennis Madsen, AICP, Manager of Urban and Long-Range Planning, City of Huntsville, AL #lghalumni #leadershipgreaterhuntsville
