Our team was happy to reconnect with colleagues at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Community Health Institute (CHI) and Expo! The UDS+ team was recognized at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS panel at the General Session for the ongoing effort to make UDS+ a requirement going forward and for the improvement in care and coverage it will enable. Sue Lin was part of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel on Monday, sharing her expertise about UDS+ as an emerging model for public health data collection. We live and breathe interoperability here at Leap Orbit, and we are thrilled to see #HRSA and #ONC aligning requirements to enable data sharing and empower Community Health Centers to respond quickly to emerging public health priorities. And a special shout out to everybody's friend, Grover, who was there to help celebrate NACH's partnership with Sesame Workshop and their joint initiative to educate the public about how CHCs serve kids! The transition over the past few years to #HL7 #FHIR has been almost as dramatic as US politics. One question raised at our recent employee offsite was, "Does HL7 FHIR have staying power in a potentially changing political landscape?” While we don't have a crystal ball, we have lived through dramatic political changes throughout the life of this company. Many of the most important issues have held bipartisan support. This includes PDMPs, ghost networks, and surprise billing. One macro risk we see is the magnitude of funding for public health organizations, but our hope is that priorities won't change. What are your thoughts?
