  • Subcouncil Spotlight—Andrew Brock Subcouncil 6 Member Q: Can you share with us your background and what motivated you to become a Subcouncil Member? A: I was born in raised in Ralston. After graduating from Ralston High School I joined the US Navy. After 8 years in the Navy, I used the GI Bill and graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. My daughter was born in 2010 and we moved back to Nebraska in 2012 to raise her here. She attends Papillion La Vista public schools and we have been more than pleased with the education she is receiving! I joined the council to give oversight and advocate for the responsible use of our taxpayer dollars. We need more conservative leadership at the school board level. Q: How do you see your role as a Subcouncil member making a positive impact on the community? A: My focus was to give a conservative voice to a traditional liberal board. We need people at all levels of government to use our taxpayer dollars effectively and stop the reckless spending on programs that are not effective and are not improving. Now that I am at the end of my term I hope that I was able to review educational programs and hold them accountable to ensure our taxpayer dollars were used efficiently and effectively.
