Level Field Facilities Fund is honored and excited to welcome Chris Barbic to its Board of Directors. Chris brings a depth of leadership experience from high impact roles that have expanded student access to quality public schools. Chris has spent over 30 years working in public education as a teacher, charter school founder, and superintendent. He currently serves as a Partner at City Fund, a national non-profit organization that supports local leaders in cities that are working to grow the number of great public school options. Chris also founded and served as CEO of YES Prep Public Schools and as the founding superintendent of the Achievement School District (ASD) in Tennessee. Level Field Partners is excited to welcome Jose Pacheco to our growing team. Jose brings over 13 years of real estate industry experience, having mostly specialized in the development of new charter schools campuses. Jose previously played a crucial role at KIPP New Jersey and KIPP Miami Public Schools, where he drove the organization’s real estate growth model and led development and renovation of over 20 schools across multiple cities and states. These projects were valued at more than $350 million and covered over one million square feet of facilities. At KIPP, Jose was responsible for managing entire project lifecycles, ranging from site selection and design through construction and final occupancy. Jose is a team player who understands the urgency required to support schools in navigating the real estate process, and we're excited about the outcomes he'll create for Level Field's clients and partners.

Congratulations to Bright Star Schools on their New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) closing for the construction of a new Valor Academy Elementary School campus. Bright Star is a network of 9 tuition-free charter public schools in Los Angeles, providing a high-quality education to over 3,600 students. In total, Bright Star received $25 million in NMTC allocation to enable the construction of an affordable, first-class 35,000-square-foot new facility for Valor Elementary.  The project will create 540 permanent seats for grades TK-4th, and the campus will include 28 classrooms, a multi-purpose building with servery, and will preserve an existing, historically designated house that will be incorporated as administrative and support space. Level Field Partners is proud to support Bright Star on the project, advising from site identification through this NMTC closing. Congratulations to Becoming Collegiate Academy (BCA) on the completion of its 6,500 square foot facility expansion project in North Jacksonville, FL. BCA's Founding Executive Director, Cameron Frazier, has steadily grown BCA's enrollment in a temporary facility and additional space was needed in order to accommodate the school's first ever 3rd graders. Fortunately for BCA, anthony nesmith ("Tony") and his team at Nesmith Construction LLC, a locally-based construction company, stepped in with design support from Will LaValley, RA, LEED AP and worked tirelessly to ensure that BCA's expansion was ready to welcome new students on the first day of school. Level Field Partners is grateful to have played a role on this project, and we look forward to our continued partnership with BCA as plans ramp up to move the school into a permanent home for the 2026-2027 school year.
