We love when the time for our annual Meals of Hope food packing event rolls around! This year, Lewis employees and their family members came together and packed meals to fight hunger in our community. Our efforts will provide about 36,000 meals to those in need. We're back with our next 9 to Know© pillar: Minimum Approach Distance (MAD) Maintained. Maintaining the appropriate and safe working distance from energized lines and equipment is the primary defense our crews have against the electrical hazards they work around daily. Did you know that according to the National Safety Council, falls from elevation are the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for workers? The required use of fall protection is the fourth pillar of our 9 to Know© safety guidelines, and for good reason. Our crews work at great heights every day, and it only takes one fall to change someone's life forever. It's absolutely vital for our employees to use the proper fall protection (in the right way) 100% of the time.

When tree crews and line crews from different companies travel into storm-riddled areas, it's not an exaggeration to say that it's not too different from doctors and nurses coming together to treat a patient in an ER.
