    Ever wonder how scientists verify their climate data? Spoiler alert: it involves some high flying action. This week, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s aircraft are taking to the skies over the Midwest armed with cutting edge tech to measure climate data. But they're not flying solo. They're backed up by over 30 flux stations–some with LI-COR systems–on the ground. This process–known as ground truthing–ensures climate models are spot on and helps us understand carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas emissions, water loss, and heat emissions with precision. Imagine it like weather stations working in tandem with satellites but on a supercharged level.     LI-COR Connect 2025 Speaker Announcement!   We are excited to announce that Prof. Danielle Way, a leader in plant responses to climate change, will be a speaker at LI-COR Connect 2025 in Tucson, Arizona! 🌵 With a focus on photosynthesis, respiration, water fluxes, plant growth, Danielle has published 95 peer-reviewed papers and received numerous awards, including election to the College of the Royal Society of Canada.   Currently at The Australian National University, she also directs The Australian Plant Phenomics Network, advancing high throughput phenotyping capabilities.     Extremely grateful for the opportunity to represent LI-COR Environmental at this week’s Workshop on 'Global and National Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Initiatives' at KRISS, Korea. The Workshop brought together experts in GHG measurement networks, instrumentation and standards, with a view to assess progress and identify collaborative opportunities to determine GHG emissions through concentration measurement both at urban and global scales.    I presented results of independent evaluations of LI-COR Trace Gas Analyzers designed for long-term atmospheric measurement of methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide, also introducing our latest carbon dioxide isotopes instrument - https://lnkd.in/evwxMRT9. Results from tests by ICOS Atmosphere Thematic Centre, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and WMO GAW Mace Head Atmospheric Research Station confirm the suitability of the LI-7810 and LI-7815 instruments for long-term measurements of atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide, respectively. These instruments are now available to the atmospheric measurement community to support plans to scale up global atmospheric greenhouse gas monitoring networks.   #BIPM #KRISS #WMO #IAEA #ICOS #ClimateAction #CCQM
