As pickleball continues its meteoric rise as the fastest-growing sport in America, Life Time is marking World Pickleball Day on Oct. 10 by surpassing more than 750 permanent courts, and we’re not done! Courts aside, we’ve launched our new Ultimate Pickleball, created the Life Time Pickleball and Tennis Board with Andre Agassi, collaborated with Ben and Collin Johns on a series of 70 instructional videos available on our complimentary Life Time Digital app and continue hosting great events, including our Fall Pickleball Classic. RJ Singh, our Chief Digital Officer and Leader of Life Time Racquet Sports shares: “Pickleball brings people of all ages together in a healthy and social way. We’re pushing the boundaries of what's possible for pickleball, including through our app to provide expert training, livestreamed events and more. If you need a tip for healthy aging, Life Time member, Janis Klecker, 65-years-young (and a former Olympian!), has one for you:  “I often tell people you need to get more creative to stay fit as you age,” Klecker says. “You need to be curious and not be afraid to learn something new. It can be easy to get stuck in the known and things our bodies are used to doing. Mixing it up and being creative is helpful.” As we near the close of National Healthy Aging Month, thanks to Parade and Shelby Deering for highlighting how Janis has embraced variety and new challenges in her 60s, including taking Alpha classes at her local Life Time several times a week. After all, age is just a number, right?

Let’s GO90! Every 90 minutes, someone receives the life-changing diagnosis of ALS. For our Founder, Chairman, and CEO Bahram Akradi, this fight is personal. He shared a decades-long friendship with fitness pioneer Augie Nieto, who bravely battled ALS after his diagnosis in 2005, enduring for 18 years until his passing in 2023. To honor Augie’s legacy and advance the search for a cure, we’re hosting our first-ever GO90 fundraising workout event on September 28, supporting @Augie’s Quest across all our clubs and through an in-app experience. Learn more about Bahram’s heartfelt connection with Augie and the significance of this event in the video below. A first for Life Time today at the Fast Company Innovation Festival as our Founder, Chairman and CEO Bahram Akradi spoke on “Destination Office” about how the workplace is changing. We started seeing this evolution years ago with members working out in our clubs then working from our Life Cafe’s. Ultimately, what started with us adding more outlets for laptops then creating more spaces throughout the clubs led to the creation of Life Time Work and Work Club Lounges. Heads up Austin! We're planning to open our fifth athletic country club in the city next year in the Seamless Capital LP mixed-use development, The Bouldin, located in the South Lamar neighborhood. This luxurious club will be home to recovery and rejuvenation spaces, a full bar and social lounge, a coworking space and a co-ed bath house with hot tubs, cold plunges, sauna and steam rooms.
