RECOVERY ISN’T JUST A THEORY — IT’S A LIFESTYLE. Trey Laird, CEO & Founder of The Lighthouse, explains the fundamental difference between treatment and recovery. Unlike treatment, where challenges are hypothetical, recovery at The Lighthouse integrates real-world experiences. Clients live their daily lives — going to work, spending time with family, and encountering real-life triggers. They return to the house or check in with their coach to reflect, learn, and improve in real-time, ensuring that their recovery journey is built on practical, lived experiences.

Every Monday morning at 10am The Lighthouse coaching team gets together to talk about our current clients. What’s working in their recovery, what problems or barriers are they having? The importance of having a TEAM of coaches is that we are all in this together. Too many recovery coaches are doing it on their own and don’t have a team or supervisor behind them to support. This is just one thing that sets The Lighthouse apart and has been a key to our clients success.

Meal time is where our clients come together to share their experiences and support each other. At The Lighthouse, we make that extra special by building community through food. Listen to Fabrice Denis, our head chef, as he prepares healthy dishes and special dietary needs, helping clients feel better and happier, which brings him joy too.

For the most part our clients are navigating marriages, families and careers in addition to their recovery. With the help of their recovery coach, their family coach and our community, they find all of this manageable, one day at a time.
Many of The Lighthouse’s clients, who are married with kids and hold high-up positions, rely on us to adjust to a newly sober life while managing work and family. Learn about our interventions and convenient locations from our CEO and Founder Trey Laird together with Cini Shaw, Chief Recovery Officer.

In 2018 Dr. John Kelley, from Harvard, did research on recovery treatment. The recovery curve shows that many in recovery will struggle around the 4th or 6th month stage. The Lighthouse addresses this with their Recovery 365 program, offering crucial support during the first year of recovery. Hear more from Cini Shaw, Chief Recovery Officer and Trey Laird, CEO and Founder of The Lighthouse!

In this video, Jim Gabal, a Senior Staff member, and Jack Claydon, a Senior Recovery Coach, sit down and discuss the importance of just taking it easy. They emphasize the need to work on oneself first, acknowledging the journey to self-improvement and taking a step back to relax are key to navigate their recovery process.
