Dr. Tamu Lucero is an inspiring leader who successfully navigated a major school system through the challenges of COVID with wisdom and grace. As a former elementary school teacher she knows better than anyone how important it is that we support children and their families. I am excited to learn from her about how we can do better as a society to provide needed care for children and adolescents in Stamford and throughout the country.

The Silver Hill Hospital team enjoyed delicious BBQ, glittering waterfront views, and great conversation at our yearly Summer Picnic. Nearly 20 staff members were recognized for their tenures at Silver Hill Hospital, starting with 5-year anniversaries and extending up to 40 years. Now, that’s a career! We are honored by the deep commitment and exceptional talents our employees bring to their work every day. A special thank you and recognition to our night staff whose schedules prevented attendance, but whose spirit and energy are treasured by our patients every evening.

Do you know of a patient, client, friend, or family member who is questioning their relationship with substance use as well as any risk-taking behaviors? Freedom Institute’s Harm Reduction Therapy Group allows our clients to explore underlying causes that might contribute to use, such as: - Stressors - Relationships - Life transitions - Mental health symptoms This group focuses on identifying and working towards goals that support a healthier relationship with substances, which could include abstinence, moderation, or reduction. This group honors each person's right to make choices, better understand themselves and what might underlie their behaviors, and develop practical skills to manage cravings, sit with urges, and process feelings. 📅 Thursdays 12:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. In-person at Freedom Institute
