About us
Love In The Trenches (LITT) runs support groups for parents who are suffering the collateral damage of their child’s addiction, parents who have lost a child to this disease, and siblings who have lost a brother or sister to addiction. As parents of someone in active addiction, we are walking the trenches to one outcome or another, acknowledging that the only outcome for our addicted child is death or recovery. This journey is painful, isolating, and often feels shameful. We are here to support one another, no matter the outcome. We are in agreement that love is at the core of our relationship with our child. We are here to share our stories without shame, and support one another in making healthy choices as we walk this walk.

September Community Outreach Recap: Our new Support Group Director, Stefanie Weir, and Kelly Ryan attended the Baltimore County ROSC Recovery in the Park event, distributing 49 kits. LITT also hosted Take Over Tuesday at the The Y in Druid Hill and trained over 35 people in Narcan use. Earlier this month, our new intern, Nelida, and Kelly attended the 8th Annual Hunger Action Symposium hosted by the Maryland Food Bank, distributing 75 Narcan kits.

We are pleased to welcome Nelida Lewis, our new intern from Towson University. Nelida is majoring in Family and Human Services and Sociology with a desire to pursue a career in social work. In her free time, she likes to play her flute or read a good book. Earlier this week, Nelida and Kelly attended the 8th Annual Hunger Action Symposium hosted by the Maryland Food Bank where they connected with other nonprofits, schools, and churches.
