As President & CEO of Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, Inc.(LADA), I am thrilled to share that our 24th Annual Lupus Charity Golf Classic held on August 15th at the beautiful Shenendoah Golf Course at Turning Stone Resort Casino was a tremendous success on all fronts. From the perfect weather to the breathtaking scenery, passionate volunteers, wonderful golfers, generous sponsors, delicious food, amazing staff and incredible venue; all united to support us to hold our most successful event to date, raising $196,500 gross, $166,000 net in proceeds. Words do not properly convey the feelings of pure joy, love, and support that many of us sensed throughout the day. It culminated in a display of heartwarming generosity as multiple contest winners selflessly donated back their monies to us at dinner. This is our LADA Community— full of grace, grit and generosity and we are all truly blessed.  We launched our new butterfly backdrop and purple golf shirts, which not only added color to the event, but were a huge success as well. The backdrop was designed by Maryrose Bullock, an artist, former LADA Board Member and person with lupus. No two butterflies are alike, just like people with lupus. Companies spend a tremendous amount of money on their exhibits, but our simple backdrop, created with love and passion, has become far more meaningful to those who visit our booths.
