Lutheran Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center (LRSCC) is proud to announce that the facility has received a deficiency-free rating following its annual survey conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and also from their annual Life Safety Code Assessment (LSAC) survey. This outstanding achievement highlights the nursing home's unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment for its residents. The non-profit, 107-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center also recently received the American Health Care Association National Bronze Award for Quality Care. Upholding a safe environment for residents and staff is a big concern for skilled nursing facilities. However, when it comes to annual facility audits, only a small percentage of providers are found to be deficiency-free. The annual DPH survey is a rigorous inspection process that evaluates nursing homes based on numerous standards of care, including resident rights, quality of life, safety protocols, medication management, infection control, and overall operations. Achieving a deficiency-free survey indicates that LRSCC has met or exceeded all state and federal requirements for health and safety, with no areas of non-compliance found during the review. This is the second annual DPH deficiency free for the facility. "We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment," said Janet Moyles, Director of Nursing at LRSCC. "Receiving a deficiency-free survey for the second year in a row is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff, who are deeply committed to providing excellent care to our residents. Their teamwork and continuous focus on quality improvement ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe and supportive environment." The LSAC survey also occurs annually and according to McKnight’s Senior Living, an industry publication, nearly 20 percent of facilities receive some form of citation. Most often it is the maintenance staff tasked with meeting rigorous Life Safety compliance requirements to ensure first-rate facility safety standards are met. Since its founding over 150 years ago, Lutheran Rehab has been committed to providing the highest quality of care and services for the people of Worcester and the surrounding area. Robin High DPT, LNHA, has made quality care the watchword of her 3 year tenure as Administrator, inspiring the staff to embrace total quality improvement and work to provide quality care and service that exceeds the expectations of residents and families. “ The deficiency-free surveys underscore Lutheran’s ability to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of healthcare while maintaining its strong focus on resident-centered care and safety” stated High. “This prestigious recognition places us among an elite group of facilities that have consistently demonstrated excellence in long-term care”.
