Creative agencies move fast. Content licensing shouldn’t slow them down. Manifest, a powerhouse in content marketing, needed a scalable way to license content without breaking their workflow. They weren’t familiar with Catch+Release at first, but now they’ve mastered it. They learned the ropes, took control of their licensing process, and can now source, clear, and license high-quality content on their own without waiting on a middleman. Catch+Release CRO Bryan Wargo shares how Manifest, a two-time Agency of the Year winner (Digiday & Content Marketing Awards), transformed the way they license content and how creative teams can do the same. 👇

  • A restless and continuous pursuit of the shiny object defines the many years I spent at digital agencies. It stemmed from the urge to plot as many “coups” to the advertising establishment(s) as possible. The hope was to capture our audiences with surprise and delight and induce a behavior change. That need to explore unproven digital territories is still pivotal to our jobs as creatives. I still spend a lot more time reading FastCo, Wired, Digiday or The Daily Crunch than Ad AdAge or Campaign US. I would advise creatives to not only pay attention to the Cannes Lions and the D&AD’s but also to what the trends are at the DMEXCO and CES. Keeping track of and being obsessed with tech and innovation is exhausting, but far from frivolous. Now, I admit that to predict what shiny object will stick is a bit of a gamble. We will inevitably bet on the wrong horse at times and spin our wheels, but part of our jobs is also to be first at delivering the unexpected — something no one else has thought about yet.
