We are excited to welcome two new Associates, Gerard W. Matar and Arghavan Sharifan, to our Los Angeles office! Gerard Matar will be joining our Employment Law and Premises Liability teams. Mr. Matar earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, receiving honors within the Technology and Entrepreneurship concentration. While in law school, he was a founding member and Academics Chair of the Video Game Law Society and completed a judicial externship under the Honorable James A. Kaddo in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He later clerked at a civil insurance defense firm, handling insurance coverage and general litigation matters, and subsequently joined the firm as an Associate after passing the California State Bar. Arghavan Sharifan will be joining our Premises Liability team. Ms. Sharifan earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she served as a student mediator at the Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution. She has experience representing insurance carriers in a variety of legal matters, including defense litigation involving property, liability, and casualty claims. Her prior work includes defending insurers against claims from policyholders and third parties, addressing disputes over policy terms, and providing coverage analysis. She has also managed claims denials and handled subrogation issues. Welcome Gerard and Arghavan! We look forward to seeing what you accomplish at Manning Kass.
