🌊 Meet Finn! Finn, an adult female California sea lion, was rescued from a life-threatening situation in Redondo Harbor. She was found seizing and stuck in the rocks, with her survival at risk. This was one of our team's most challenging rescues, as Finn (weighing 172 lbs) was at the bottom of a steep sea wall, getting pounded by waves. After an hour of trying to secure her in the net, the Redondo Beach Fire Department Harbor Patrol provided extra rope and a boat, helping save Finn’s life. Thanks to the incredible teamwork between our rescue staff, the Redondo Beach Fire Department Harbor Patrol’s B shift team, and generous donors like you, Finn was brought safely to our center for a second chance. Though her prognosis was uncertain at first, Finn showed remarkable strength. She began eating on her own and continued to make progress each day under our care. Our expert veterinary team treated her pneumonia and neurological symptoms. After a month of care, Finn made a full recovery and was released back into the wild. A huge thank you to the @RedondoBeachFireDepartment Harbor Patrol for their support in our rescue efforts. It truly takes a village to give wildlife a second chance!
