A Podcast and Community Supporting Millennial + Gen Z Marketers and Entrepreneurs in Building Their Brands + Careers.
About us
Founded by two long-time friends, Marketing Happy Hour began as a shared passion for marketing and, of course, happy hour! Today, the podcast and brand are operated by Cassie Tucker. This weekly podcast is more than just marketing tips—it’s a refreshing blend of career, leadership, and life insights, where listeners are invited to hang out and join the conversation, just like a traditional happy hour. The original idea sparked for Marketing Happy Hour during a four-hour dinner in Tampa, FL, in 2020, where Cassie and Erica envisioned the potential of their insights over happy hour chats. Starting as a Clubhouse live show, blending marketing talk with a love for the food and wine industry, Marketing Happy Hour quickly evolved into a podcast to bring these inspiring conversations to a larger audience. Today, the podcast not only highlights guests from some of the world’s leading brands, but also fosters a thriving community of marketing pros and aims to be a premier resource for Millennial and Gen Z marketers and entrepreneurs navigating their industries.

Marketers—if you’re brainstorming for your next expo or event opportunity, check out Scout Brisson’s (De Soi) latest series of posts breaking down the actual costs and brainstorm process from their recent Expo West appearance.
How do you build a booth that actually feels like your brand? My last post on the Expo West’s true costs blew up–so, let’s talk about the other side of it: design. When we started developing our booth, we truly had no clue where to begin. The first quotes we got from agencies were somewhere around $75K-$100K+ (which wasn’t happening). So, we had to get creative. We knew we wanted our booth to feel like De Soi—elevated, but inviting. Our first idea, “Bar De Soi,” was cute, but a little too on the nose. So we went deep into Pinterest: Our search led us to Parisian café culture—sitting at a sidewalk table sipping wine (*chef’s kiss*). We pulled our inspo from iconic spots like Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots. From there, it was all about the details: // Flooring // Shutters vs. curtains (shutters won) // Stripes vs. solid awning (stripes, obviously) // Tile vs. a flat Pantone for the bar (sadly, we conceded with the latter) // The chalkboard menu (made all the difference) The process felt more like interior design than booth design (so fun!). Then came the color challenge. At first, our options looked...off. Eventually, we landed on our signature purple and orange, balanced with enough cream to feel elevated. We then played around with our branded shapes. My favorite touch was our mushroom-shaped table! One thing we *did* forget... Actually saying what we sell. The words “non-alc apéritifs” were nowhere to be found on the booth. Oops. Wingsite Displays, Inc. “booth in a box” approach helped us focus while still making it feel very De Soi. A great production partner made all the difference (thanks, Steve Walsh!). and huge credit to Amruta V., Stephanie Still and Macy Scruggs for bringing the vision to life!! We’re already dreaming up what’s next– See you at #ExpoWest 2026!

Building a solid personal brand is one of the simplest ways to begin owning your career. And, contrary to popular belief, a personal brand *isn't* just for creators and entrepreneurs looking to build an online presence--It's for corporate professionals looking to stand out in their face-to-face interactions, too. So, how do you start building your own brand? First, start by answering these questions: 1️⃣ What are your goals / vision? 2️⃣ How do you perceive yourself? 3️⃣ How do others perceive you? When these three click (think: venn diagram), you’ve got a brand that builds confidence, opens doors, and helps you to navigate your career journey. In my latest episode with Sheena Hakimian (Marketer w/ Condé Nast and Life Coach), we break down this framework further and how to leverage it to own your career. Listen now via your favorite podcast platform!

This is your sign to align your career direction with your natural traits and abilities. 🚀 Kyle Hagge (Morning Brew Inc.) shares that the first step is to cultivate self-awareness to discover what those traits are, then identify the environment you need to be in where those traits are rewarded. The result? You'll thrive as you continue to build your career in a positive environment. #careergrowth #careertips #marketingpodcast #careerpodcast
