July 16, 2024 - The USA is set to introduce their first hydrogen-powered passenger train in San Bernardino, CA for commercial operations starting in the Fall. The train will operate on a 9.6-mile route between San Bernardino and Redlands. According to SBCTA, “the new train system from Stadler is also known as the FLIRT H2, and it aims to meet the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) regulations. The new hydrogen train also started its final testing phase.” The hydrogen-powered passenger train recently achieved a range of 1,742 miles on a test track in Colorado, which proved to be a World Record.
