Since our founding in 1999, Mary's Place has evolved from a day center for women experiencing homelessness to an innovative organization addressing family homelessness across King County. From providing 24/7 emergency shelter where families can stay together, to welcoming dads, multigenerational families, and pets, to adding mobile outreach and prevention to our strategy, Mary's Place has grown and stepped up to meet the need in our community! Check out our new video to learn about the work we're doing and our three-pronged approach to ensure every family in our community has a safe, stable home!

“Being homeless was one of the most expensive times in my life. I had to purchase a gym membership so I had a place to shower and get ready for work. Once in a while, I’d rent a hotel room just so [my sons and I] could be together for a night, and I could sleep in a comfortable bed,” shares Kawana, an affordable housing advocate who experienced homelessness after black mold in her rented apartment left her with no place to go. Sadly, Kawana's story is not uncommon, an unexpected illness or a broken-down car can be the difference between being safely housed or sleeping in a car for many families. Read more about Kawana's moving story, her advocacy work, and how you can help families like hers on our blog! https://lnkd.in/g4WEXVXQ

Moms are always there to offer a warm, comforting hug and that's how Edna feels about Mary's Place! We're honored to serve incredible moms like Edna, who need a supportive community, compassionate services, and a safe place to heal so they can continue doing what they do best - loving their young ones! As Edna shares in her moving poem, the LOVE and support our community pours into Mary's Place is felt by every parent and child who walks through our doors! 💜
